Fashion Food & Hot Flashes

As I continue to follow my bliss I realized that I still need to make a living…yeah the hubs can afford for me to stay home but I still want to contribute to society and feel productive.

So I went online and applied for work at a major high-end department store (which will remain nameless) and low and behold I interviewed with a couple of fabulous ladies and a few days later was offered a position as a sales associate which I coin as personal stylist, yeah uh huh more fabulous sounding right?

Started new hire orientation a week ago Monday and so far so good. Although I must admit I have not worked so hard in as long as I can remember, well I can remember when I started at an airline catering company as one of the rank and file…well now I am one of the rank and file, however, in the company I am in now, our company culture is quite unique in that we have an inverted pyramid, the customer comes first, the sales employees come second and on and on you see the picture right?

I really love it because I get to help my customers to select and buy fabulous things, I can help them build an ensemble whether for themselves or for a gift to someone, case in point I had a lady come in a few days ago looking for something, when I asked her what the special occasion was she said a snappy festive Holiday party. So immediately my mind went to work and before long I was able to put together a cute but not over the top ensemble for her.

Another example, a couple walked in the store looking for a coat for the wife, I showed them a few that would complement her body type and the husband was so happy to see his wife in the most expensive one that I showed them because it really looked good on her, at the register however, the wife said oh no that is too much to pay…but the husband said no darling you are so worth it and it looks terrific on you! Awww it melted my heart!

So yeah I love my new career path, and if you have guessed which company this is, they really believe in promoting from within and I am so inspired and surrounded by management folks that I aspire to be when I grow up ~.~
